Code Warriors: Hakitzu Battles - learn to code through robot arena combat App Reviews

Teaches some code. Not enough players.

The coding is basic. It progresses from buttons that write the code, to you writing the code yourself. Its probably a tough strategy game to consistently win against a real opponent. Seems chess-like but simpler as all robots have same type of mobility. Less durable robots get slightly more mobility points. Everyone has pretty easy access to all weapons, given that you play through enough single-player challenges to put credits into your account. It would be better if there were a larger pool of players to battle against. I have only completed one game and have more than 15 open, waiting for a second or third move from my opponents.

Great game

This game is just what I was looking for. It combines gaming and learning how to Programm a little.

Nobody to Play Against?

The concept of this game is great, but its hard to determine if it works and more importantly, hard to give a fair rating of this game, if nobody plays it. It would be nice if there were the ability to practice against computer opponents, but as it is, my current opponents are not making any moves. I cant even delete current games in progress??

Great, but still nit there yet

I love the idea, its addictive! But there should be a way to close existing games since people take forever to move, and it would also cool to be able to practice individually or against the machine. I cant wait to get more people in!

Good idea, needs 2 small tweaks

I love the concept of this app and learning how to code. 2 things I would suggest are.... 1. I have an iPod 5g and the app doesnt support the screen size 2. The ability to play against the computer instead of waiting for people to make their moves

Could easily be a five-star game, but...

A unique concept with an addictive play mechanic, Hakitzu needs slightly better graphics and, most importantly, stability updates. I am on Stealth Challenge 5 and it simply will not load, crashing the game. The game is prone to crashing at any time, while loading, playing or in conclusion of a round. As well, upon initiating the game, it annoyingly keeps telling me over and over that I have received a couple certificates, with no way to permanently dismiss these pop-ups. Hakitzu has great play value, I cant wait to see when it is fixed.

Great potential!

This game is pretty great start, with a practice mode, or maybe a challenge series or 2 with unique rewards would add that much more. The only downfall for this game is that right now there arent a whole lot of players... Yet. Also it would help to have a forfeit option, and maybe a turn length cutoff, so the users arent waiting for days on their opponents.

Bad

The worst game I have played. The first level is almost impossible

Cool but buggy

Nice idea! But it crashes too often and it doesnt save my input after restart. It is an epic fail from the point of view of the programmer. And its javascript is limited to a list of function calls, no loops or user functions. No fun! When you understand that you just have type in all commands instead of pointing with a finger the game becomes simply boring. Hope, I missed something and we actually can hack it ;)

hackitzu

this is a very goooooooood game but i think that it could be improved a lot.

Great educational tool!

This app provides the best of both worlds: a game and a new skill! I really think the update makes Hakitzu easier to navigate and all the bugs have been fixed. Im excited to be a hacker in no time!

Not coding

This is not coding. It is selecting actions and letting the game do all the coding. Crashes when I try multiplayer. But fun while it lasted.... Kinda

Very Cool

Fantastic game. Great learning tool and fun!

For real!!!???

This is crazy I got the game and I cant even play because it crashes every time I turn in the app! Fix the bug and I will get it. I got so excited for this game and when I downloaded it I couldnt play it cause it crashed! Fix the bug and I will re-download it

Bought the game; new update has ads

I bought this game as soon as it was featured on Code Week. I made quite a bit of progress. Then it was updated. I have restored all purchases but now there are advertisements in the game, and I lost all my progress. Cmon! They did, however, add new, prettier graphics and more gameplay.

Promising

Some minor functionality issues, but otherwise a great game to teach the basics of coding and having fun while doing it. Would like to see a bot match option as well

Crashes a lot

I cant even play it it crashes too much fix and a 5 star rating is all yours ok thx

More code?

I love the concept and think it is very good and has awesome graphics, but I personally would prefer a more code oriented game, such as robocode, possibly with code academy style lessons or even code academy integration.

Pay for ads

Bought the game, still see ads. They told me to restore purchases. I still see ads. Plus this isnt coding... Or fun for that matter.

Learning Code?

I fail to see how this game teaches you how to code. You merely select action and the game writes stuff into a function. There is no coding involved. You dont even know how the function was made or how the variables were made.
